Characters Expected To Appear In 'Justice League Part 1' Movie In 2017

DC plans on claiming some of the Hollywood success Marvel has been enjoying by announcing their lineup of releases, leading up all the way until 2019.

The "Avengers" counterparts, "Justice League," joins that list in two parts with the first installment due out in 2017.

One of 2016's most anticipated releases is "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," it is expected to define DC's shared universe by introducing new characters. Three "Justice League" members will debut in the upcoming movie.

While Henry Cavill has already established his role in "Man of Steel," Ben Affleck will debut as the new "Dark Knight." Both are expected to hold on to their capes until the first "Justice League" movie or wherever Batman and Superman may appear.

"Fast & Furious" beauty Gal Gadot takes on the role of "Wonder Woman," debuting in "Dawn of Justice" and getting a solo film in 2017 as well. The Israeli native has been reported getting in shape for her character by putting on more muscle.

Many are arguing that "Aquaman's" presence has already been introduced in 2013's "Man of Steel" in the scene where Clark Kent is saved by whales in the ocean. "Aquaman" will debut in "Batman V Superman" as well, however, it is uncertain how big of a role the "king of Atlantis" will play in the upcoming film.

Green Lantern's last movie wasn't exactly a success, it is for certain though that Ryan Reynolds won't be coming back to reprise his 2011 role. The actor has signed on to another superhero movie, Fox's "Deadpool." Musician Common who was rumored before in playing character John Stewart (the second Green Lantern) is still a popular choice.

A "Shazam" movie has been confirmed for 2019; not much is known about the film except that it will be a part of DC's shared universe. Dwayne Johnson takes on the role of Black Adam, the nemesis of the title hero.

The Flash is currently enjoying the success of his hit TV series at CW. It is unconfirmed if actor Grant Gustin, the actor who plays the title role in the series, would be reprising his role on the big screen.

Cyborg, a character originally from the Teen Titans comic book has been reported joining the "Justice League" getting a solo movie in 2020 as well. Actor Ray Fisher will play the role.
