As much as K-pop fans are excited by YG Entertainment's "Who's Next?" teasers, some also perceive it as an omen for other idol groups.

This week, YG Entertainment unleashed a brand new "Who's Next?" teaser, signaling the comeback or debut of one of its K-pop acts. On Wednesday, One Direction member Zayn Malik announced his departure from the boy band.

"My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined," wrote Malik on Facebook.

"But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight."

While One Direction and YG Entertainment seem unrelated, social media is highlighted the timing of the two events, as it is not the first time a "Who's Next?" teaser has coincided with the departure of an idol band member.

On Oct. 6, YG Entertainment released a "Who's Next?" teaser with the date Oct. 10 on the poster. On Oct. 10, news broke of Luhan's lawsuit against SM Entertainment, and he has not conducted activities with EXO since.

Fans have pointed out other interesting instances where a YG Entertainment teaser has been followed by the departure of other idol group members. Consequently, Zayn's recent announcement has fueled such observations.

As far as the record label's own acts, it is expected that either Big Bang or iKON will debut in April, despite conflicting rumors.

"It is true that Big Bang is focused solely on working on their music for their comeback as a group, but the reports of them making a comeback in April are groundless as there are no confirmed dates in their schedule," said the rep according to allkpop.

"We haven't even decided on the comeback date yet, so I don't know why talks of their comeback stage on music shows or their concert dates are being spread around. They are groundless."
