First Look At The New Gorillaz! New Album Announced To Come Out In 2016! Damon Albarn Talks About Song Writing

A few years after being on the sideline, Gorillaz has confirmed of a comeback that it is expected to happen in 2016.

Animated band mastermind Damon Albarn talks about the group's return, claiming that a new album is expected next year.

Talks about their return sparked after artist Jamie Hewlett revealed on his Instagram account how Russell, Murdoc, 2D and Noodles would look like in their new album.

In a previous report, Albarn confirmed that Gorillaz is hitting the studios soon to create a follow up to 2011's "The Fall."

Billboard claimed that the 47-year-old musician revealed how he created the record and claimed that it was created on an iPad while they were on tour for "Plastic Beach."

"I literally made it on the road," Albarn said. "I didn't write it before, I didn't prepare it. I just did it day by day as a kind of diary of my experience in America. If I left it until the New Year to release it then the cynics out there would say, 'Oh well, it's been tampered with', but if I put it out now they'd know that I haven't done anything because I've been on tour ever since."

In the same interview, the Blur vocalist was asked about his alternative band and revealed that he wouldn't say anything so that his words would not be taken out of context.

"I would imagine there's some kind of future, but at the moment there's no time for the future - only the present," he said. "Who knows? I'm reluctant to say anything [about Blur], because if I do, it just gets taken out of context and then I'm accused of being a wind-up."

A new Gorillaz album is expected to be released in 2016 and it will be the fifth studio album of the group.
