Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Byron Scott’s Confidence In Jeremy Lin Back? LA Planning To Re-Sign Point Guard?

What could be considered a shaky relationship, Byron Scott and Jeremy Lin have had arguments throughout the season. But now, it seems like Scott is willing to give Lin one more go, probably gauging if he should be re-signed by the end of this season.

According to LA Times, Coach Scott will be starting Ryan Kelly, Jeremy Lin, and Jordan Clarkson altogether.

"I'm going to change the lineup. As a matter of fact, I'm going to start Jeremy and J.C. together. They don't even know it yet. Ryan will be at the four," he said.

"That was something I had planned on doing. It had nothing to do with last night, but last night made it a little bit easier to throw him in there, because he played so well," Scott added.

He was referring to the season high 29-point performance by Jeremy Lin against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Jeremy Lin also said that he is excited to start with Clarkson.

"I think we'll be able to help each other. I don't necessarily always see it as you're the point guard, I'm the shooting guard. ... It's a tandem."

According to Real GM, Jeremy Lin is having a resurgence post All-Star break as he is posting 14 points, three rebounds and five assists per game with an impressive 22.2 PER.

"He's had his ups and downs this year," Byron Scott said of Jeremy Lin, "but he's definitely an NBA player. We all know that. It's just a matter of what happens in the draft and everything else that determines what we're going to do with the free agent market."

Although Jeremy Lin and Byron Scott are not clicking all the time due to Lin's turnover issues, the Lakers might find Lin serviceable enough to bring him back next season.
