'Five Nights At Freddy's 4' Fan Theory Suggests Creator Scott Cawthon Planned Four Games Since Beginning [VIDEO]

While there's plenty of people who have the attitude that there's no need for a fourth game, there's almost an equal amount of fans who would play the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise well past its current three games.

Admittedly, this is nothing new in the horror game genre. Just ask "Resident Evil" fans how they feel about the series thus far.

Although "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" appears to be the last game in the franchise, there's no record of Scott Cawthon denying a future installment. Even if there was, that wouldn't stop fans from theorizing about the wildly successful game series. Recently yet another fan has come up with a theory that "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" was planned from the beginning based on certain aspects of the previous games, as well as Cawthon's current email message on his official website.

Youtube user xxProClassGamerxx released a video even before the release of "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" pointing out that Cawthon did not want fans to use specific titles for their fan games including what would be the fourth installment:

"Please clearly label your game as a fan game, and as a courtesy please do not name your game Five Nights at Freddy's 3, 4, etc. as it may cause confusion," explained Cawthon.

But admittedly this small piece of evidence seems like it could have been Cawthon merely protecting his intellectual property. Or maybe it meant that he had considered four games all along.

If you buy in to MatPat and The Game Theorist youtube channel's theories, the timeline of the series has included a total four locations, all of which have been depicted in the series save for the original location, Fazbear's Family Diner. Wouldn't an origins/prequel game be a great way to put the series to rest?

Fans can watch the full "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" theory video below and decide for themselves whether four games was the plan all along. Or, like some others who have already celebrated the end of "Five Nights at Freddy's," gripe that there should not be any more games.
