Kate Middleton Baby Name: Duchess Of Cambridge Having A Baby Girl? William And Kate To Name Second Child Alice?

Now that it is already April and the Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth at any time (April 25 to be exact), the speculation regarding the baby's name has risen to a fever pitch.

Such is the hype regarding this newest royal baby, that betting houses are taking in wagers for the baby's name. Even if the gender is unknown, bets on Kate Middleton's baby's name show that people really want the baby to be a girl. People magazine points to the all-pink ensemble worn by the duchess recently, as a possible clue that the baby is indeed a female.

British bookmakers William Hill reports that the name "Alice" seems to be a favorite among those who are placing bets on the royal baby's name. Some bets have gone as high as $700. Other betting houses such as Ladbrokes also report that "Alice" is the most popular name that people are staking their money on. Meanwhile, other frontrunners in Kate Middleton's baby name race include Elizabeth, Charlotte, and Victoria. "The support for Alice is relentless, and we've been left with no option but to take the scissors to the odds," a spokesman for Ladsbroke said, according to People magazine.

It's no wonder that "Alice" is the fan favorite name for Kate Middleton's baby as the name itself has royal lineage. Queen Victoria's second daughter was named Alice, as well as the wife of the late Duke of Gloucester.

However as mentioned, there have been no official announcements or confirmations yet for the baby's gender. So just in case Prince George will have a baby brother instead of sister, the betting houses also report that several boys names are popular. They include James, Arthur, Henry, Charles, and Thomas.

Fans of William and Kate won't have to wait long to find out both the gender of the baby and its name. Stay tuned here for more royal baby updates.
