Kate Middleton’s Due Date Countdown: Will Baby Number 2 Be Born On Her Fourth Wedding Anniversary With Husband Prince William?

The royal baby number two countdown has started as Kate Middleton's due date approaches: will the Duchess of Cambridge give birth to her second child on her fourth wedding anniversary with husband Prince William?

According to CBS News, Clarence House announced on Sept. 8 that Kate was pregnant. However, no clues were given about her specific due date for when we could expect Kate Middleton's second baby to arrive.

On a recent public visit, Kate reportedly told a charity worker that she is due mid-to-late April.

Kate Middleton and Prince William's fourth wedding anniversary falls on April 29, which could easily coincide with baby number two's arrival.

Another possibility? The baby's great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was born on April 21.

According to USA Today, the barricades and "No Parking" signs have gone up around St. Mary's Hospital in London, signalling the official countdown to the birth of the second royal baby has begun. But there's one big difference from the countdown of Kate's first child, George Alexander Louis: the media circus is nowhere to be seen.

USA Today reports that there's "no sign of the forest of step-stools and camera equipment that impeded foot traffic for weeks in 2013."

This time around, the media isn't allowed to stake out in front of the hospital. The media is only allowed to assemble when the duchess has actually checked into the hospital.

Simon Perry, royal correspondent in London for People, told USA Today that the countdown is "certainly less hysterical - by now last time there were camera crews and photographers at the hospital. That hasn't happened and the noise about it is lower accordingly."

But loyal royal fans are still excited to see the new baby when it arrives, and bookkeepers are taking bets on the baby's gender (will it be a girl?) and name (Alice?).
