K-Pop Crossover: 2NE1's CL Confirmed For Mad Decent Block Party Concerts In Brooklyn, Berkley And Los Angeles

American fans are eagerly awaiting Lee "CL" Chaerin's solo debut, and the 2NE1 rapper will continue her crossover activities by joining Mad Decent Block Party this summer.

Organized by Diplo's record label Mad Decent, Mad Decent Block Party focuses on global pop and dance music. In 2015, 22 concerts across 19 cities have been announced in North America, and CL will appear in three performances in August and September.

"CL will be appearing for a total of three times, on August 9 in New York's Brooklyn, on Sept. 11 in California's Berkley and Sept. 19 in Los Angeles," confirmed YG Entertainment's blog YG-Life.

Reportedly, CL will be joined by artists like Diplo, Skrillex and T-Pain.

Diplo and Skrillex have been longtime collaborators with the 2NE1 member, including last year's "Dirty Vibe" featuring Big Bang's G-Dragon. Diplo also confirmed to be overseeing CL's solo debut.

"CL's album, I'm working really closely on," said Diplo to iHeartRadio.

"She's a Korean pop star who sings and raps. She's on Skrillex and my 'Dirty Vibe' song. She's just awesome. I'm so proud of the stuff we did. She's really cool. We have a song coming out next month with me, her, Riff Raff and OG Maco, and it's a rap song called 'Dr. Pepper.' It's really cool."

During an interview with Fader, CL teased the work she's been doing with various top-name producers.

"There's this one song that I've been working on that everyone on my team hates-my manager is going to kill me for saying this-but that's why I'm excited about it," said CL.

"I love that people find it difficult. Some people want to tell me what's right for me, and I have to stick up for myself all of the time."
