Princess Charlotte Of Cambridge's First Outfit Was A Gift! Who Gave It And Where Was It Bought?

Princess Charlottte of Cambridge was debuted to the world last May 2 by her parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and already there is much interest in what she was wearing.

The newborn's very first outfit consisted of a white shawl from G.H. Hurt & Son, and an ensemble that was bought from a Spanish clothing store. According to the Spanish daily El Diario Vasco, the outfit was bought at Irulea. The mother of Maria Teresa Turrion Borralo, who is employed as a nanny by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was the one who bought the clothes. The whole outfit consisted of a white bonnet, booties, and a sweater set.

She reportedly purchased the items with cash and chose a combination of white and ivory for the clothes' colors because even she did not know whether royal baby number 2 was a boy or a girl. The owners of Irulea only found out about Princess Charlotte of Cambridge wearing their clothes when one of their customers called them up to tell them.

The owners of Irulea, Susana and Ayago Villar thought it was strange that the whole thing was so secretive. They said that they "had no clue why the purchase was so discreet" and said they only became aware that Charlotte was wearing clothes from their store when a customer reached out to them to let them know.

Irulea is an 82-year-old Spanish clothes shop located in San Sebastian. According to The Daily Mirror, Susana Villar shared that there was a coat that was part of the purchase. "[It was] a matching outfit that included a little coat and shoes but it was impossible to tell if she had them on as they were covered up by the blanket wrapped over her," Villar said.

She also shared that an unknown woman first phoned them to inquire about the clothes, saying she liked the style that they sold.

"She phoned about five or six times after that before ringing about a month ago to tell us she wanted to come to the shop personally," Villar shared.
