Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date Specs: Tablet's Intel Haswell Processors To Be Replaced By Alternative Chips

Microsoft officials are rumored to replace Intel's Haswell processors with either Broadwell of Skylake chips for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

The company is expected to announce the release date for the Surface Pro 4 on May 20, where they are set to confirm specs featured in the tablet.

These include a 12-inch display, a 5th generation Intel processor and an N-Trig surface pen, according to SlashGear

But consumers are also talking about its recently-confirmed predecessor tablet.

The final Microsoft Surface Pro 3 price drop has been announced: the devices 128GB and 256GB versions can be purchased for $899 and $1,149 respectively. Their original prices were $999 and $1,299.

The tablet is going on sale in the United States beginning on May 5 and the device's price will also be dropped internationally beginning on May 7.

Consumers have already begun buzzing about its rumored successor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is rumored to have an October release date and will feature Windows 10 as its primary operating system, The Inquisitr reports.

Although the upcoming tablet device was slated for a July release, Microsoft is now said to delay its launch in order to coincide with the release of its new operating system.

"The Surface Pro 3 is selling just as well as it did when it first came out. Even though people expected a June or July release for the Pro 4, it probably won't happen until Windows 10 is released. That way, Microsoft could capitalize on both Windows 10 and the new Surface Pro at the same time," industry analyst Paul Mueller told the site.
