The 34-minute power outage at Sunday's Super Bowl root cause is still under investigation.

The halftime show performance by Beyonce was not to blame as they have their own generator and the stadium actually saw a reduction in power usage during Beyonce's set, according to SMG CEO and Senior Vice President Doug Thornton.

It was said an "abnormality" occurred as stadium equipment sensing a potential issue had cut the power to parts of the stadium to isolate it.

"It was a piece of equipment that did its job," said Thornton. "These are things that we drill for."

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said New Orleans was a great Super Bowl host and the outage won't impact the city's future bids.
