Oreo Outage Tweet Goes Viral During Super Bowl Blackout

Nabisco's Oreo seems to have jumped at the chance to capitalize during last night's Super Bowl with one lucky tweet.

The cookie brand made a Twitter debut during the 34-minute blackout becoming one of the first and most successful ads on social media.

The Tweet message read "Power out? No problem," along with a picture of an Oreo along with a caption, "You can still dunk in the dark."

"We had a mission control set up at our office with the brand and 360i, and when the blackout happened, the team looked at it as an opportunity," agency president Sarah Hofstetter told BuzzFeed. "Because the brand team was there, it was easy to get approvals and get it up in minutes."
