Shakira Shares First Baby Photo; 'Meet Our Baby Boy Milan' [PHOTO]

Call it baby's first photo op.

International pop icon Shakira shared a baby photo of her infant son yesterday, giving the world its first look at her second child, born on January 22.

Shakira posted the baby photo on her Facebook page and the UNICEF World Baby Shower website she set up with her husband, Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique.

"Meet our baby boy Milan," read the caption on Shakira's Facebook page.

The singer of the international smash "Whenever, Wherever," also took to Twitter in an attempt use the photo's hype to drive people to the UNICEF site.

"Visit our @Unicef #Babyshower to see the 1st pic of my 2 angels & help underprivileged babies," she tweeted.

Shakira, whose full name is Shakira Mebarak, has been an enduring activist for underprivileged children around the world. Appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2003, the singer described to unicef.org why she feels compelled to work for humanitarian causes.

"I believe that I have to use the resources provided by my artistic career in order to tell people about real problems in the real world, and I know that I have to contribute to the search for real solutions," she said. "I'm sure that our planet will be a better place if each one of us will take responsibility for the needs of others."

The couple's decision to use the inevitable frenzy caused by the photo for socially conscious action impressed the Twitter user @FCB_LJ Live.

"How cool are @shakira & @3gerardpique to give @unicef a pic of their family first for charity and not sell them for millions to tabloids :)" the user tweeted.

Most of the singer's Twitter followers simply offered best wishes to the young couple.

"Congratulations he's Precious!!!" tweeted @PATRICIADIZE.

It would appear that Shakira should enjoy her maternity leave while she can, the singer will be joining the cast of "The Voice" as a coach in the spring. The singing competition returns to NBC for its fourth season on March 25.

Singer Usher will also be a new addition to the show in season four. The pair will replace current coaches Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green; a change that Green says is only temporary.

"I will return for season five and will be watching season four," Green told Entertainment Weekly. "NBC is home and as far as Usher and Shakira are concerned - ‘mi casa su casa.'"
