Madonna Beats Beyoncé in Battle of Super Bowl Halftime Ratings

In the Super Bowl ratings battle of the Material Girl versus the Queen of Pop, experience appears to have triumphed over youth.

Madonna beat Beyoncé in the battle over Super Bowl halftime ratings, according to Deadline.

Last year, Madonna, who is now 54, broke the record for the highest ratings ever for a Super Bowl halftime show, with 114 million viewers-higher ratings than the game itself drew. Beyoncé, who is 31, drew nearly 109 million viewers, trailing Madonna by more than five million households.

Dressed in a leather outfit that was part Greek goddess and part dominatrix, Beyoncé began her performance with her mega-hit "Crazy In Love," before breaking into the songs "End Of Time" and "Baby Boy."

Her former Destiny's Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams then joined her for a medley of songs including "Bootylicious" and "Independent Women," before the ladies joined Beyoncé and a field full of dancers for her hit "Single Ladies."

Although she may have missed out on the chance to top Madonna for ratings, Beyoncé seemed relieved that the performance was over, wanly telling Inside Edition, "It was was fierce, honey."

""It was Gone With the Wind fabulous," she added, referencing the reality show "Real Housewives of Atlanta," as the other two members of Destiny's Child guffawed.

Last month, a source close to the singer told the website Hollywood Life that Beyoncé felt including her ex-bandmates was the right thing to do.

"The Super Bowl is meant to be a reflection of your entire career, where you came from and where you are going," the source said. "For Beyoncé, she wants to show the best in herself and what she still has to offer with the element of the past leading to the future. It seemed to her that it wasn't right to have this grand stage without the help from the girls she loves and grew up with both professionally in the group and as friends. She would have it no other way and is super excited over the reunion."

Last year, Madonna also relied on some extra star power to make her Super Bowl halftime performance the most-watched in history.

The star's 12-minute set included performances by Cirque Du Soleil, LMFAO, British rapper M.I.A. and Queens rapper and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj. The performance included hits from throughout the Madge's career including Music, Open Your Heart, and Like A Prayer.
