"Modern Family" star Ariel Winter has finally reached emancipation from her longstanding battle with custody.

As reported by Time, the actress has officially announced it last Friday via her twitter account.

"I'm really lucky I have an amazing support system and lovely people in my life who have given me the support and guidance to have been given this wonderful opportunity," she wrote.

Adding to this, Winter also acknowledged her sister Shanelle Gray, who has stood as her guardian since the year 2012. Gray has helped her all the way with the battle. She became Ariel's guardian when the Department of Children and Family Services was able to prove that Ariel's mom, Chrisoula Workman, was abusing her emotionally. 

"Most importantly, I want to thank @shanelle_gray and my father or their special support regarding this matter, I really couldn't have done it without them," the 17-year-old tweeted.

"Thank you to all of my family, friends, and fans who have supported me through all of my endeavors in life, and have encouraged me," she added. "Thank you for making my life so special! I can't wait to embark on my new adventures." 

A few days ago, Ariel posted a photo and her sister on her official instagram page. The photo was an ode to Mother's day. 

"Happy Mother's Day to the most amazing mother and sister out there Shanelle Gray!," Ariel wrote as caption. "I love you more than words can even describe and I'm so lucky to have you as my sister. You're an amazing mother, an amazing sister, and an amazing wife, among many other things."

"It's incredible to me how you can be such a successful business woman, such an amazing mother to your kids, and also be my best friend," she added. "You are my inspiration. I'm so thankful for everything you've done for me and for everything you've helped me accomplish."

"Without your love and support I wouldn't have become the person I am today," Winter continued. |I'm so happy we get to begin the next chapter of our lives going on sister adventures and making new, special memories. You're amazing Shanelle. I love you to the moon. Happy Mother's Day❤️"
