Las Vegas Casino Evacuated Due to Overheated Motor

Las Vegas hotel and casino, The Excalibur, was forced to evacuate guests early Tuesday morning from one of its four towers due to strong smoke smell from an overheated ventilation motor.

MGM resorts spokesman, Gordon Absher, reported that hotel employees evacuated one of the Las Vegas Strip casino's four towers after alarms went off around 2AM local time.

As there was no fire in the hotel or casino, the guests and staffs were allowed to go back inside after two hours inside the building.

Dave Ward, a guest at the hotel visiting from Canada said, "I jumped out of bed and looked out the window to see all the emergency response. So it got dressed and grabbed my essentials and walked out."

Associated Press reported the ventilation motor have been fixed by Tuesday afternoon.

"As far as compensation, we will handle this in the normal course of delivering our good customers service," announced Absher. "We'll deal with this on a case by case basis."
