LL Cool J Licks Lips, Requests Hash Tags At 2013 Grammys: Twitter Not Amused

LL Cool J hosted the 2013 Grammys on Sunday. It was the rapper and actor's second time hosting, in his trademark laid back, yet hyped-up style.

Yet many viewers of CBS's 2013 Grammy coverage felt LL Cool J was a bit too laid back when it came to his tongue--finding the host's lip licking to be distracting and even gross.

"I'm pretty sure the "LL" in LL Cool J's name stands for "Lip licker," tweeted Ryan Smith.

The Twitter user @NativeApprops was keeping score at home.

"LL Cool J licked his lips 28 times in the opening monologue. We counted." The Twitter user tweeted an hour into the 2013 Grammys.

Former Guns ‘N Roses drummer Matt Sorum was among the Twitter users irritated by LL Cool J's incessant lip licking.

"LL cool J needs some Chapstick," Sorum tweeted. "That guy licks his Lipps every two seconds, drives me nuts."

LL Cool J, who tweeted a blurry backstage photo posing with Carrie Underwood after the singer won a Grammy, has also annoyed some Grammy viewers by constantly requesting that they start Twitter hashtags.

"Has LL Cool J never heard of a hashtag before tonight?" Twitter user Jack Mirkinson wrote.

"LL Cool J is like your dad just discovering the Internet," tweeted Anthony De Rosa.

Libbie Anderson thinks CBS has spent too much of the 2013 Grammys on hashtags.

"So, do they, like, give awards at the #Grammys?" Anderson tweeted. "Or is it just a televised show for LL Cool J to read twitter?
