May Proves To Be Breakout Month On The Small Screen For BTOB's Yook Sungjae

A member of one K-pop group is standing out after revealing his diverse talents.

Yook Sungjae (Sungjae), a member of Cube Entertainment’s boy band BTOB, came into his own in 2015, after showcasing his vocal talent on one variety show and taking on a lead role in drama. The idol previously appeared on variety shows and dramas.

May became a breakout month for Sungjae, after he appeared on MBC’s Mask King and KBS 2TV’s Who Are You: School 2015.

On Mask King, Sungjae revealed his vocal skills. As a secondary vocalist in BTOB, Sungjae’s talent shocked the audience.

“[I] didn’t know he can sing so well,” commented Nadya Ananda on YouTube. “If MBC didn’t put his name in the title of the video, I wouldn’t [believe] its Sungjae.”

The same month, Sungjae’s appearance as Gong Tae Gwang in KBS 2TV’s Who Are You: School 2015 drama gained recognition. The series began airing at the end of April.

On May 28, Sungjae became one of the most searched entertainment terms in South Korea after appearing on Radio Star to discuss his roles in both Mask King and Who Are You.

As a member of BTOB, Yook Sungjae's last comeback was the group's song "You're So Fly."
