Hines Ward And Wife Join ABC's 'Celebrity Wife Swap;' Tension Reaches Peak As Differences In Lifestyle Stresses Participants!

Hines Ward and his wife has been making headlines lately.

This is due to their participation in the hit reality tv series by ABC titled, "Celebrity Wife Swap." The reality show gets two sets of families and swaps the wife for the one from the other family. The show usually gets two families that are completely different from each other, to highlight the differences and increase entertainment value.

Ward, who is a professional football player, and is a winner of the show, "Dancing with the Stars" in 2011, has expressed his excitement in joining the show prior to its airing.

"I thought it was an opportunity to learn something from another celebrity couple," said the football player, according to AJC.

Hines Ward's wife is named Lindsey Georgalas-Ward, and they both live with his son from a previous relationship, Jaden.

Lindsey was reported to have initially refused to participate in the show and had to be convinced by her husband. "She was hesitant," he said. "It can be overwhelming. We did have a blast. We'll see how they do edits and stuff like that . I'm sure there are some comical moments. I do have a greater appreciation for my marriage to Lindsey now. I really don't want to swap her out again!"

As to the other celebrity family, it was "Austin Powers'" star, Verne Troyer's. In contrast to Hines' family, Troyer's household was perceived to be a lot less strict and is more laid back compared to Hines'.

Viewers were not surprised to see tension between the two families after the swap between Hines Ward's wife and Verne's girlfriend, Brittney Powell happened. While there were some obvious conflicts, no fights took place in both households.

"I'm all about discipline," Ward previously said about how he likes his family to be. "My son is expected to be polite. 'Yes ma'am. No ma'am.' I lead an everyday life."

"People assume we live a glamorous life and it's all peaches and cream," he added. "We have problems and situations like everyone else. I'm down to earth at home. I'm not just that football and 'Dancing With the Stars' guy."
