CL stepped into the Billboard spotlight by featuring in DJ Diplo's single, "Doctor Pepper."

After its release, "Doctor Pepper" has been receiving much coverage through Billbard, XXL, Fuse TV, Stereogum, Hypetrak, and more. Accordingly, CL has been receiving much spotlight.

"CL is prepping her upcoming English full-length," explained Billboard, "but the K-pop superstar is serving fans "Doctor Pepper" as an appetizer ahead of her official debut single."

Complex Magazine also commented, "Rising K-Pop star CL just released her new posse cut, 'Dr. Pepper,' with Diplo,​ RiFF RAFF, and OG Maco​, and the potential turn up anthem comes just in time for the summer." It also explained, "CL delivers a memorable and catchy hook that transitions into her solid verse that more than keeps up with Jody and Maco on the track."

"Doctor Pepper" was first released through The Fader on May 22. It's a track that emphasizes on Diplo's unique trap beats and CL's powerful rap. Mad Decent label's RiFF RAFF and OG Maco feature in the track as well. OG Maco debuted last year with "U Guessed It" and became popular.

As of 10 AM KST of May 28, "Doctor Pepper" is recording 1 million streams on Soundcloud.

With her debut in the U.S. ahead, CL will meet with her fans at Korea's Ultra Music Festival from June 12 and June 13. She will also throw the first ball for LA Dogers on June 17. In August and September, she will perform at Mad Decent Block Party.
