Sony Xperia Z5: Rumored Specs & Features; New Handset Worthy To Be Flagship Model?

Specs and features for Sony's much-awaited Xperia Z5 have been leaked.

According to a report by Mobile & Apps, the "high-end" smartphone "may be en route, possibly launching in the fall of this year or early next year."

They also added that the Xperia Z5 will feature a QHD display with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip running on 4GB of RAM, and will be built with a "premium metallic design."

It will have an improved 21-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) coupled to a new IMX320 sensor, and a Sense ID fingerprint scanner, making it the Sony's first model to carry the safety feature.

"The most interesting feature that might come is the fast charging battery capabilities, there are rumors that are stating, a phone could be charged in 5 to 10 minutes," a report on xiperiaz5.com claims.

The Z5 is said to be inspired by Sony's Bravia, the company's flagship television line, according to Android Origin.

"The design is said to draw heavily from the company's recent BRAVIA television sets and will feature a completely clean front end with a frosted glass effect," their report states, adding "the body will be thicker than the Xperia Z3 and Z4, with more angular sides."

Their sources claim "the sides could actually be reminiscent of Sony Ericsson devices from the past," adding the "Xperia Z5 Ultra and Xperia Z5 Compact should also share many of the same design cues as the Z5."

A Twitter user (@Riccolo) who's popularly known for predicting electronic devices shared an image on his account, reportedly using the Z5's new camera. The snap has been taken down from the social media site.

Sony has not made any statements regarding the rumored specs and features.
