Baek Chung Gang hid behind a mask to make his comeback in the spotlight.

In 2011, Baek Chung Gang was the winner of the first season of MBC's Birth of a Great Star, but after making his name the singer faced cancer. Now, over four years after first coming into the spotilight, Baek Chung Gang wowed the audience of another variety show.

The 25-year-old singer is a cancer survivor, but made his long-awaited return to the spotlight on MBC's King of Mask Singer (Masked Singer.)

His performance on the show wowed the audience after Baek unmasked, but not only because of who was hidden and the fact that he had survived cancer. But Baek's vocal range proved to be unhindered by his cancer treatments that he was able to trick the audience into not realizing that he was a man.

Popular comedian Kim Gu Ra called Baek out for it, and expressed confusion about how Baek's voice sounded so much like that of a female. Baek laughed off the exchange before the host of the show explained his back story and showed clips of Baek winning Birth of a Great Star.

The episode of King of Mask Singer also revealed that Teen Top member Chunji was one of the participants on the show, but he was eliminated and forced to take off his mask.
