Sony Xperia Z5: Latest Rumors, Specs, Features, & Release Date

The latest around the rumor mill claims Sony will reveal the release date for the Xperia Z5 after the Z4 launches.

GizmoFacts has published the specs for both the Z4 and Z5, claiming that the latter will be the better of the two.

According to their article, the forthcoming Z4 will likely feature a 3-inch 4K screen, Gorrilla Glass 3, a 27-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, a 3GHz 64-bit Quallcomm processor, 3GB of RAM, working on an Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Additionally, it will carry a 4,000mAh batterry and will be waterproof for up to 100 meters.

The superior Xperia Z5 will reportedly will have a 5-inch display, a 30-megapixel rear camera & 10-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization coupled to a new IMX320 sensor, 4GB RAM, 2GHz Octa Core 64bit Quallcomm processor, and 128 GB internal storage. Additional features include 4K ultra HD display, a fingerprint ID sensor, retina scanner, gravity sensor, and a fast charging 4500 mAh battery which various sources are raving about.

"The most interesting feature that might come is the fast charging battery capabilities, there are rumors that are stating, a phone could be charged in 5 to 10 minutes," a report on xiperiaz5.com claims.

"The design is said to draw heavily from the company's recent BRAVIA television sets and will feature a completely clean front end with a frosted glass effect," according to Android Origin. "The body will be thicker than the Xperia Z3 and Z4, with more angular sides."

Phones Review speculates the upcoming smarthphone may focus on gaming and might feature "a whole new look, something that would really stand out above previous Xperia Z handsets."

As for the Z5's release date, GizmoFacts states that it will likely launch in late 2015 "or can be in 2016 after [the] release of Xperia Z4."
