Six year after the movie came out, Michael Oher opened up to ESPN how "The Blind Side" has negatively affected his life and possibly his career.

Michael Oher shared his performance has been judged by some after "The Blind Side" came out in 2009.

"I'm not trying to prove anything,'' Oher told ESPN.

"People look at me, and they take things away from me because of a movie," he said. "They don't really see the skills and the kind of player I am. That's why I get downgraded so much, because of something off the field."

He also defended himself over accusations that he is a "bust" on the football field.

"This stuff, calling me a bust, people saying if I can play or not," he added. "That has nothing to do with football. It's something else off the field. That's why I don't like that movie."

This is the not the first time Michael Oher took jibes at "The Blind Side."

According to ESPN, he also expressed his dislike with the movie before winning the Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012.

"I'm tired of the movie," Michael Oher said about the movie then. "I'm here to play football."

In the synopsis of "The Blind Side" on its website, it was said that "Michael Oher knows little about his family. Less about football. What the homeless teen knows are the streets and the projects of Memphis."

In 2013, Michael Oher's teammates at the Baltimore Ravens defended the movie depiction of Michael Oher on "The Blind Side." They said "he's nothing like that" and that the "real life Mike Oher is better."

"Everything else is good, but them showing me not knowing how to play football, that's what upsets me the most," Michael Oher commented about "The Blind Side" in 2013 according to a report on the Baltimore Raven's page.

Oher is no longer part of the Baltimore Ravens. In 2014, according to ESPN, he signed with the Tennessee Titans but was later released due to a toe injury. He is now with the Carolina Panthers.

Warner Bros. refused to comment about Michael Oher's claims about "The Blind Side." Its director John Lee Hancock did not respond before The Wrap contacted him.
