Microsoft Plans To Unveil Xbox Successor In April

There are reports that Microsoft planning to unveil Xbox successor at an April event.

Coming off the heels of the PlayStation 4 announcement from SONY; Microsoft feels forced to keep up.

Originally at an expo in June, the successor for Xbox was supposed to be revealed. Due to its competitor announcing PS4 is on its way, it has been reported that the unveiling will be moved up a few months.

The hype for the new era of game-consoles has buzzed around the web and social media. PS4 is taking the spotlight and hogging it.

SONY announced that PS4 will be released right around next Christmas.

Santa might come down the chimneys with a lot of new PlayStations, which will be graphically superior to Xbox 360 and its predecessor, PS3. It will even have an "instant on" capability. No more waiting around, press all these buttons to get the system running.

Computer & Video Games is reporting that Microsoft is planning a "one-off media event" to show off its new system in early April. They got their information from unnamed sources inside and outside of Microsoft.

VG247 has corroborated CVG's information, saying it has "also received word of the April event."

 National Alliance Securities analyst Mike Hickey has previously said he expected Microsoft to announce its console successor in April.

NeoGAF helped organize Microsoft's E3 2012 media briefing and now has registered the domain XboxEvent.com yesterday.

All signs point to something being done here. The video game-lovers all around the world will wait in anticipation. It appears as if they will not have to wait as long as expected.

  Maybe children and adults will get two new consoles for the holidays.
