Melissa Rivers news reported how Joan Rivers' daughter opened up after she confirmed that she will be the new host of "Fashion Police."

According to a report from People, the 47-year-old spoke up about moving on from being the remaining half of the mother-and-daughter "comedy act."

"I'm a different person and I'm in a different place," she said.

"As a performer it's terrifying, and as a performer you have to give yourself time to sort it all out."

Melissa Rivers also told news publications that she is excited to revive "Fashion Police."

"We want to go back to the roots of it being funny," she said.

"Just like a family, when the matriarch dies, the sisters started fighting, someone tried to marry in, not a great match - live and learn."

"I don't want to blow it," the comedy icon's daughter added.

Previously reported Melissa Rivers news from New York Daily News shared how she felt about all the controversies surrounding the hit fashion critique show. She specifically addressed how Kathy Griffin quit after less than ten episodes.

"I'm just going to say it wasn't a match on a lot of levels. My biggest complaint was the feeling that she kind of s--- all over my mother's legacy in her statement on leaving," she said about her mother's supposed protégé.

"I know that that was not an intentional reading of it, but that's how I felt. But I know that wasn't how it was intended. I understand what you're doing. You're trying to save yourself, but don't crap all over my mother to do it."

"'Fashion Police' was this little jewel, and it was the last piece I had of my mother and I working together," she said.

Kathy Griffin defended herself what Melissa Rivers told news publications.

"Kathy thought she'd put 'Fashion Police' behind her," a source told Ok magazine.

"She's frustrated that Melissa is pulling her back into the fray.''
