Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband Lamar Odom seems to be getting depressed. According to a report from Hollywood Life, the former NBA star does not want to attend the funerals of his friends who recently died from drugs.

"Lamar knows now that life is too short. He knows it could have easily been him at the morgue and not his friends.He doesn't know if he can see either of them dead. It's just too much for him to handle," a source explained.

"Jamie is being cremated and the thought of it is just too much for Lamar. He can't go back to NY and deal with Jamie's family and his old friends. It's just too painful."

"His family is encouraging him to attend Jamie and Bobby's services. They think it would be the best thing forLamar. It would help him get closure and he'd be able to say his last words. And, most importantly, they're hoping it will be a bone chilling reminder and a wake up call for him to know what can happen if he goes down that dark road," the insider detailed.

Khloe Kardashian reportedly rushed to the side of Lamar Odom as Us Weekly confirmed that he lost two close friends in a span of one week because of drug use. The back to back deaths of Bobby Heyward and Jamie Sangouthai within just one week seems to be the reality check that the troubled athlete needs.

Lamar Odom's producer and writer friend, Bobby Heyward, passed away last Saturday at the age of 30. Even though his exact cause of death has not yet been detailed by the LA County Coroners, he reportedly died of a drug overdose.

His passing came after the death of another good friend of Lamar Odom, Jamie Sangouthai.

An earlier report from Us Weekly said the death of Jamie Sangouthai and Bobby Heyward could be the reality check that Lamar Odom needs. He has long been accused of drug and alcohol issues, which eventually to the separation of Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom.

 "He feels like it could have happened to him. This is a huge wake-up call for him. It has really shaken him," an insider said.
