Donald Trump Sues Univision For $500 Million Over Racist Remarks Controversy: Is NBC Universal Next?

Donald Trump announced plans on Tuesday to sue Univision for $500 million over their decision to pull the plug on their broadcasting of Miss Universe.

The presidential candidate released a lengthy statement where he accused the Spanish-language telecommunications company of surprising his freedom of speech under the First Amendment. He is also rumored to plan a lawsuit against NBC Universal over their decision to cut ties with him.

Donald Trump announced plans to sue Univision last week.

"I cannot be silenced - unlike a politician," Trump told the New York Post on Thursday, adding that he promises "a major lawsuit" over breach of contract versus Univision.

"I'm exposing these terrible deals because I'm running for president, but it's putting tremendous pressure on Univision."

Univision decided to end deals with Miss Universe over Trump's insulting remarks made during a recent speech where he announced his presidential candidacy. He accused Latino immigrants of bringing rapists, criminals and drugs into the country and even proposed building a wall along the border.

Trump's Miss USA Pageant deal with Univision is said to involve $15 million.
