Watch New 'Prison School' Anime Trailer Featuring Student Council Vice President Meiko [VIDEO]

The 2015 summer anime season is now completely underway with several series making their premieres over the weekend.

This week however, will be jam-packed with series premieres every night.

One of the series set to premiere this week is the "Prison School" anime. The comedy series, which is set for debut on July 10, recently received a series of new character themed trailers for the school's student council elite. The trailer for the Student Council Vice President Meiko, is available to view below.

In response to the new Meiko character trailer, many fans are expressing excitement for Japanese voice actress Itou Shizuka, who voices the character.

"Itou Shizuka does a good job at voicing the sadist Shiraki Meiko," said Hameyadea.

Anime News Network reports the following main Japanese voice cast:

Hiroshi Kamiya as Kyoshi

Katsuyuki Konishi as Gakuto

Kenichi Suzumura as Shingo

Daisuke Namikawa as Joe

Kazuyuki Okitsu as Reiji "Andre" Ando

Sayaka Ohara as Mari

Shizuka Itou as Meiko

Kana Hanazawa as Hana

The "Prison School" anime will be directed by Tsutomu Mizushima with scripts by Michiko Yokote. Junichiro Taniguchi will design the characters and serve as the chief animation director. J.C. Staff will handle the animation production.

Yen Press describes the original story of "Prison School" by manga creator Akira Hiramoto as follows:

"Hachimitsu Private Academy was a revered and elite all-girls' boarding school on the outskirts of Tokyo...once upon a time. But with the new school year comes a revision to school policy: Boys are to be admitted into the student body for the first time ever."

The description goes on:

"But on his first day at Hachimitsu, Kiyoshi Fujino discovers that he's one of only five boys enrolled at the school. Their numbers overwhelmed by the thousand girls in the student body, is it heaven or hell that awaits these five (un)fortunates?!"
