Tom Cruise's Scientology Days To End Soon? ‘Mission Impossible’ Actor Considers Quitting Religion For Daughter Suri’s Welfare

Tom Cruise's Scientology days might soon be over following reports that the "Mission Impossible" actor feels dejected that he isn't able to spend more time with his daughter, Suri Cruise. An insider revealed the circumstance that made the actor rethink his choices.

"She was going on and on about her ballet class and how much she loves it. That's when Tom realized he's never seen her perform ballet and he started to tear up," said an insider to the Sun.

"It hit him that she's growing up before his eyes and he's not there to witness most of it. They talk on the phone and video chat, but it's not the same."

Tom Cruise's Scientology affiliation is believed to be the reason for his split with Katie Holmes. The "Dawson Creek" actress allegedly chose to part ways with Tom Cruise because she didn't want Suri Cruise to be raised under the religion's principles.

However, the insider also said that the "Top Gun" actor Tom Cruise is feeling pressure from the Church of Scientology because of his 9-year-old daughter.

"Tom has been under tremendous pressure where Suri and Katie are concerned because the church doesn't want him close to them. They can't stand that their own poster boy isn't raising his child in the church."

"If they label Suri a suppressive person (a Scientology term for an enemy of the church), as they've been known to do with dissenters, that would make it hard for Tom to have a relationship with her," added the source.

"He's between a rock and a hard place, but he's finally making a choice to put his daughter first."

In 2013, it was reported that Tom Cruise allegedly wanted to enroll Suri to an elite Scientology boot camp for children. While Katie Holmes once embraced the cult religion, she reportedly did not find its teachings convincing.

According to Radar Online, when the Tom Cruise was asked by the court if his ex-wife wanted to get out of their marriage because she didn't want their daughter's involvement with Scientology, the "Oblivion" actor replied, "That was one of the assertions, yes."
