'Snow White With The Red Hair' Anime Gets Second Season Slated For 2016

If you're one of the shojo anime fans that enjoyed the premiere episode of "Snow White with the Red Hair," it looks like there will be plenty more episodes in the future.

According to Anime News Network, producers of "Snow White with the Red Hair" announced this weekend that the series would have two seasons. The first season premiered earlier this week. The second season is set to air sometime next year.

So far, fans are reacting positively toward the news that there will be two seasons of "Snow White with the Red Hair."

"That's great to hear! But...second season in 2016? That seems a bit far away. I hope it airs in winter 2016," said Phoenixalia in an ANN forum.

Anime News Network reports the following Japanese voice cast for the anime series:

Saori Hayami as Shirayuki (Snow White)

Ryota Ohsaka as Zen

Yuichiro Umehara as Mitsuhide

Kaori Nazuka as Kiki

Nobuhiko Okamoto as Obi

Jun Fukuyama as Prince Raji Shenazard

Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Mihaya

Akira Ishida as Izana

Yuko Kaida as Garack

Yuko Sanpei as Ryu.

Masahiro Ando will direct "Snow White with the Red Hair" with scripts by Deko Akao. Kumiko Takahashi is designing the characters, while Studio Bones handles the animation production. Finally, the music for the series will be composed by Michiru Oshima.

"Snow White with the Red Hair" is based on the manga series of the same name by Sorata Akiduki. The story follows Shirayuki, a beautiful girl with extremely uncommon red hair. Shirayuki is promised to the prince of her country against her will, and instead escapes. She then meets the prince of a neighboring country, Zen, and decides to serve at his side as the court doctor.

Funimation is currently streaming episodes of "Snow White with the Red Hair" outside of Japan.
