Kim Jae Won showed his heartthrob charms in the July issue of InStyle. The actor modeled apparel and accessories by Prada, Bottega Veneta and Etro, to name a few brands, while posing in a garden under the natural sunlight.

During the accompanying interview, the star talked about the shooting process for his drama Splendid Politics. When asked if he had difficulty filming outdoors in the hot summer, he responded, "Fortunately, I had a lot of indoor rather than outdoor scenes because I play a royal. I tried to have fun with the role by trying to imagine my past life."

Kim also discussed how he tries to make his characters approachable to viewers.

"If you have fun expressing the character and give a little bit away about their history, they become more accessible to the public." He said. "When one line of the script does not do anything for me, I like to deal with the situation, depending if the scene allows improvisation."

He also talked about the moment that made him realize his popularity had skyrocketed. After the airing of the 2002 drama Romance, in which he played a high school student who falls in love with his teacher, he exited a music broadcast program only to realize that 1,000 fans were outside to greet him.
