KStarz In Focus: CNBLUE In A Week

Hallyu Rock band, CNBLUE first debuted on the K-POP scene in 2010 and since have enjoyed a whirlwind three years of popularity in Korea and all around the world. In January of 2013, the foursome prepared to launch their long awaited Korean comeback after a 10 month hiatus with their 4th mini album, 'RE: BLUE' which became their most successful comeback ever. In this edition of KStarz In Focus, I'll zero in on CNBLUE's powerful presence during the week of February 11th 2013.

By mid February, CNBLUE was about three weeks into their comeback promotions for 'RE: BLUE' which officially kicked off January 14th with their album release and quickly became a permanent fixture on television with their numerous appearances on variety and music shows. CNBLUE's appearance on the popular talk show 'TAXI' showed a playful, child-like a side of the band that most don't really get to see and allowed them to be carefree if only for a few hours. I really enjoyed watching the members play and laugh with each other up until the end where they shared a lively meal with the hosts of the show.

For their comeback to television, CNBLUE strived to perform live on stage for as many appearances as possible starting with their special comeback stages on the various music shows. For myself and many other fans, this set their 'RE: BLUE' comeback apart from their past comebacks. Excited fans got to watch them perform each time, not only singing live but also performing with live instruments which was an unusual practice for Korean television. This allowed viewers to enjoy the band as if they were watching a live concert, where I feel they shine the most. CNBLUE performed on KBS Music Bank, MBC Music Core and SBS Inkigayo and even earned 'Triple Crown' status on MBC's Music Show Champion for winning the number one spot on their countdown three weeks in a row.

CNBLUE added a new endorsement deal to their growing list as they were recently chosen to represent Prospecs W athletics brand and formally released their commercial spots for the brand featuring Korea's National Ice skating champion Kim Yuna. The four members starred in their own commercials highlighting the brand products and their handsome good looks. I strongly believe CNBLUE's charismatic, manly image and musical successes have helped them to score this and many other ad campaigns for reputable companies such as Holika Holika, BangBang, Olive Young, T.G.I. Friday's, Samsung and many others over the past few years.

CNBLUE started the year off with a bang and packed so many positive moments into one week, I can't even highlight them all in this short segment but they just keep going. CNBLUE are currently creating a name for themselves as 'pioneers of K-POP' becoming the first Korean band to tour the world so make sure to look out for them coming soon to a major city near you.
