'Servamp' Anime Gets Official Japanese Voice Cast Lead By Takuma Terashima

Encounters with stray black cats has been a staple of many fantasy series.

But meeting a black cat that is the servant of a vampire seems completely original.

Perhaps that is the reason why the "Servamp" manga series is now being adapted into a TV anime. The most recent announcement for the "Servamp" anime includes the main Japanese voice cast, which will be led by Takuma Terashima.

So far, fans are expressing much excitement for the "Servamp" anime:

"I'm looking forward to this. Oh, and if this airs in fall, that would be perfect," says Phoenixalia in an ANN forum.

Other fans are specifically excited about the Japanese voice cast.

"Yuki Kaji and Hiro Shimono? I'm in," commented SweetCoconut.

The "Servamp" anime does not yet have major staff or a release date, but the official website did report that the anime will be broadcast on television. Given the recent adaptation announcement, fans may see the anime as early as the fall 2015 anime season or the winter 2016 anime season.

Anime News Network reports the following Japanese voice cast for the "Servamp" anime:

Takuma Terashima as Mahiru Shirota

Yuuki Kaji as Kuro

Hiro Shimono as Misono Arisuin

Kazuma Horie as Snow Lily

Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Tsubaki

"Servamp," which is based on a manga series by Strike Tanaka, is currently being released in North America by Seven Seas. The company describes the series as follows:

"When a stray black cat named Kuro crosses Mahiru Shirota's path, the high school freshman's life will never be the same again. Kuro is, in fact, no ordinary feline, but a servamp: a servant vampire."

It goes on:

"While Mahiru's personal philosophy is one of non-intervention, he soon becomes embroiled in an ancient, altogether surreal conflict between vampires and humans."
