K-Pop Crossover: 2NE1 Meets Beyonce In Taylor Hatala, Larsen Thompson Viral Dance Video

Every few months, 2NE1's iconic "I Am the Best" manages to resurface in pop media, and the latest phenomenon features two talented young dancers.

On Monday, 11-year-old Taylor Hatala uploaded a dance video with friend and fellow dancer Larsen Thompson. The viral video has garnered over 300,000 views on YouTube and features a mash-up of Beyonce's "Run the World" and 2NE1's "I Am the Best."

At such a young age, Hatala has already seen viral success with her dance videos, and will even be a dancer for Janet Jackson's upcoming world tour.

"To have the opportunity to work with the biggest female icon in the music industry is the most amazing feeling in the world," said Hatala according to Jackson's website. "This is beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you to Janet and her team for this unreal opportunity! I am so so grateful!!"

And while her latest video has already seen viewership success, some are criticizing Hatala and Thompson's usage of Chinese-inspired costumes.

"The girl's dancing is definitely amazing; I just really don't understand the second half of the video," wrote YouTube viewer Erin C. "The 2NE1 song 'I Am the Best' is a Korean pop song and sung in Korean, but they are wearing traditional-esq Chinese styled outfits? I get that a Hanbok isn't super tight or flattering but not all Asian countries are the same! You can't lump their very diverse cultures all together."

Last week, "I Am the Best" also made headlines after actress Emma Stone voiced her affection for the 2NE1 song on "Conan."

"It's a global phenomenon," exclaimed the 26-year-old actress. "I like a song called 'I am the Best,' which I'm not going to try to say in Korean, but it's incredible. It's an older song too. I'm way behind the times."
