Joan Rivers’ Death Lawsuit To Be Given Special Treatment; Judge Voices Privacy Concerns Regarding Late Comedienne’s Case

Joan Rivers' death lawsuit will reportedly be given special treatment. According to a report from Page Six, the Manhattan judge in charge of the late comedienne's case has voiced her privacy concerns regarding the high profile legal battle.

Justice Joan Lobis admitted that she will be extra careful about overseeing the medical malpractice lawsuit. The report stated how all discussions surrounding Joan Rivers' death case will be limited to very few people.

The proceeding for Joan Rivers' death case has been listed on the Manhattan Supreme Court calendar as a public hearing.

"I'm concerned about privacy in this case," Justice Joan Lobis said.

Joan Rivers' death last Sept. 4 shocked her fans all over the world. The comedy icon passed away after being placed in a week-long coma following a botched throat operation at Yorkville Endoscopy last Aug. 28, 2014.

The said Upper East Side medical facility named is currently facing a multi-million dollar medical malpractice lawsuit from Joan Rivers' only daughter, Melissa Rivers.

Entertainment Tonight previously reported that the 47-year-old executive producer of "Fashion Police" is reportedly "outraged" at the outpatient facility responsible for Joan Rivers' untimely and completely avoidable death.

"[Melissa Rivers] is outraged by the misconduct and mismanagement now shown to have occurred before, during and after the procedure," her lawyers said in a statement.

Yorkville Endoscopy performing Joan Rivers' routine throat operation were supposedly unable to get her formal consent for the fatal procedure that was performed on her. Personnel also allegedly "failed to identify deteriorating vital signs", which placed the comedienne into a coma that led to her untimely death.

A recent report from New York Daily News said that new legal proof revealed how Dr. Lawrence Cohan took selfies while Joan Rivers was sedated.

Details indicated in Yorkville Endoscopy's own clinical records, a sworn statement by anesthesiologist Renuka Bankulla, documents by a federal regulatory agency and a report from the medical examiner all proved the actions of Yorkville Endoscopy's head doctor.
