Shipper fans rejoice as a possible new pairing may soon be coming to "Penny Dreadful" in the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, there's still no certainty whether Vanessa and Ethan will finally get together.

At this year's San Diego Comic Con, TV Line sat down with "Penny Dreadful" actor Reeve Carney, who among other things, discussed what new pairing he'd like to see with his character Dorian Gray. According to Carney, he'd definitely like to see Dorian and Hecate together.

But, will it actually happen in season three?

Well, it is certainly possible. Showrunner John Logan did confirm that Hecate (played by actress Sarah Greene) would return.

"I think Hecate is such a delicious character because she has her mother's sort of flamboyant sense of evil and flamboyant sense of language, but she's a contemporary young woman who's not as bound as her mother to the old tropes of Satanism. She's a lot of fun. She will absolutely be back in season 3," said Logan.

It would certainly seem that Hecate and Dorian could cross paths. In fact, based on a recent interview with actress Billie Piper, there are certainly turns in store for her character Lily and Dorian's new villain duo.

"The thing about John is that it will take a turn, I imagine. I don't know that much about the third series, but I wouldn't put it past him that this journey will take many turns and it won't be some seamless killing spree," said Piper.

It would seem that there's definitely a chance that Hecate and Dorian could cross paths in "Penny Dreadful" season three, but it will also depend on how much darker Dorian will get. This is especially up in the air if Hecate is still after his past love Vanessa Ives (played by Eva Green).
