Jeremy Lin Hoping To Revive Career With Charlotte; How Much Was He Undervalued As A Laker?

From being one of the most celebrated athletes in recent memory to becoming a bench reserve, Jeremy Lin is hoping that his arrival at Charlotte will tone down expectations and let him play to the best of his abilities.

Last season, Jeremy Lin received plenty of criticisms when he was still playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. Most of them came from head coach Byron Scott as he often criticized the point guard for being turnover prone.

That is pretty much the whole story of Lin's career. Due to the "Linsanity" craze, he was looked at as a player with immense potential. In fact, Yibada.com reported that Lin performed better for the Lakers as he even managed to average more points, assists, and steals compared to his stint with the Rockets.

"Lin's averages with the Lakers a season ago may not look great, but he actually averaged more points, assists, rebounds and steals per 36 minutes compared to the 2013-14 season he spent with the Rockets," as stated in the website.

In fact, due to his decent performance with LA that he is getting a lot less money compared to former Spurs guard Cory Joseph. With that said, it can be agreed that life got a bit unfair for Jeremy Lin.

"Given that Cory Joseph netted a four-year, $30 million deal from the Raptors this summer, Lin's contract is far below his market value. Perhaps this will make up for the botched Lance Stephenson signing from a year ago."

Nevertheless, all of those are thing of the past for the point guard as he is just grateful for the new opportunity. Via Yahoo Sports:

"Very excited. Can't wait to get going. I just felt like this is going to be a great fit for me." Lin said. "What I bring to the table is what i think this team needs."
