'Flying Witch' Manga Series Gets Anime Adaptation

If you've been missing the wonderful world of "Kiki Delivery's Service," it looks like there will be a new anime about a young witch.

Today, it was announced that the slice of life manga series entitled "Flying Witch" would be adapted into a TV anime series. Though there's not much information about the anime, it will likely be announced soon.

So far, fans seem pretty happy with the idea of an anime version of "Flying Witch."

"Ah nice, the slice of life with fantasy themes adapted into an anime. There's not too many chapters out so far but I think it could still work out. Hope it will debut for fall or winter," said Stark700 in an ANN forum.

Unfortunately, there's no information yet about the release date, Japanese voice cast, or staff. Anime News Network reports that this information should come out soon. It is however confirmed that "Flying Witch" series will air on NTV, Aomori Broadcasting Corp., and other stations.

As for the "Flying Witch" manga series, it was originally created by Chihiro Ishizuka. The series was originally launched in the September 2012 issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. The third volume of the series was released in April this year and the fourth volume will be released on April 8, 2016.

Anime News Network reports the following storyline for the "Flying Witch" manga series:

"The comical story follows the 15-year-old witch Makoto Kowata and the other boys and girls in her daily life. With her black cat Chito, the somewhat aimless girl moved from Yokohama to live with her second cousin at Aomori in verdant northern Japan."
