2NE1's CL To Release New Music In September?

Another September release from YG Entertainment? The K-Pop Herald thinks so.

After the news that at least three YG Entertainment acts, including Big Bang and Psy, will release new music in September, an article published by the K-Pop Herald on August 3 suggests that CL of 2NE1 will join the month's promotions with the release of her new album. The outlet reported that CL's debut into the American music market is imminent, and that she had been filming multiple music videos in the United States.

"Given that she completed her recording of the album for the U.S. market and the shooting for her music videos are underway, it is widely expected that she will debut in September," wrote K-Pop Herald writer Kim Yu Jin in an article titled "CL's U.S debut imminent."

CL is signed with SB Projects, Scooter Braun's label, in the United States. She made her first inroads to the American music industry with the release of "Dr. Pepper," a collaboration track with Diplo, RiFF RAFF, and OG Maco in May. Her first solo release was "The Baddest Female" in 2013.

2NE1 debuted in 2009 with the song "Fire" and became one of the most popular groups in South Korea with the release of songs like "I Am The Best" and "Ugly." CL began preparing for her American debut in 2014, when she signed with SB Projects.

Neither SB Projects nor YG Entertainment have announced a date of CL's official American debut.
