‘The Last Of Us 2’ Release Date To Be Announced Next Year? Naughty Dog Finishing Up ‘Uncharted 4’ For Now

After a successful run for the PS3 and PS4 for "The Last Of Us," a new "The Last Of Us 2" is expected from Naughty Dog in the years to come after the release date of the game has been hinted.

In a recent report by Eurogamer, it has been confirmed by North Nolan, who does the voicing duties of the villain David in the game series and Nathan Drake in the "Uncharted" series, that the studio is in fact working on a follow up to the survival game.

Nolan uttered the words "Not yet, I know they're doing 'The Last of Us 2,'" after he was asked if there are more games in line after doing "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."

Meanwhile, in the same report, Troy Baker, who does the voice of Joel, recently stated that he has no news yet regarding a "The Last Of Us 2" release date.

"I know nothing. I don't know if we're gonna do another one or not. If we do, then I trust Neil [Druckmann, creative director] and Bruce [Straley, game director] and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told," Baker said reportedly said after appearing at Indy PopCon.

Although not confirming anything, he said in the same panel that if ever creators of the game pushes through with the sequel, he wanted to see what happened in between the start of the outbreak leading to how the story started in the first game.

"You know, spoiler, when you go from the prologue and then credits and then cut to 20 years later, you see a completely different guy," Baker said.

In a recent interview with directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann, they revealed that possible release date announcement of any other game, which may include "The Last Of Us 2," would happen when they finish "Uncharted 4," which would happen next year.

"We're 110 percent in 'Uncharted 4' territory now," Straley said. "Blinders on, make this awesome."
