2016 Nintendo NX Release Date Specs Include Virtual Reality And Augmented Reality Features

The upcoming Nintendo NX video game console is reported to include specs that support virtual reality and augmented reality.

California-based tech advisor Digi-Capital tells Forbes that Nintendo may try to be one of the first companies to make virtual reality more social---this could be accomplished by developing multiplayer capabilities or using augment reality.

Nintendo officials have yet to confirm specs and release date information pertaining to the highly-anticipated console. However, new reports suggest that Nintendo may release its new NX console in late 2016, given that it is working on a deal with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) for its processor.

AMD produces gameplay chips that serve as processors for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles.

Pre-orders for the Nintendo NX are set to begin next February or March ahead of the the console's speculated 2016 release date, a new report also suggests. Production is expected to begin several months after, either in May or June.

EB Games Australia is already offering pre-orders for Nintendo's upcoming NX console. "Nintendo have confirmed they're developing a dedicated gaming platform with the codename NX!" the company wrote in a promotional post

"They've said more info will come next year. The NX is now available for preorder inshore."

Nintendo's former president and chief executive officer Satoru Iwata recently passed away. He was 55 years old.
