GTX 980 Ti Release Date News And Specs: NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 980 Ti in 4K surround was released last month and the internet is becoming overloaded with reviews.

According to hardocp, which previewed NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 980 Ti in 4K surround for gaming sites, the video card GV-N98TG1 GAMING-6GD, which they call "G1 GAMING," it apart from the other GIGABYTE model offerings. The most expensive video card at $689.99, it is worth it.

GIGABYTE's GV-N98TWF3OC-6GD model has a custom design, a different design and "doesn't use hand-culled GPUs like the G1 GAMING."

"One big difference between the two custom video cards is the expansion of display output connections," hardocp wrote. "Naturally, all three models have 6GB of VRAM as that is standard on all GTX 980 Ti video cards."

According to Expreview.com, the upcoming graphics card is expected to a have a  very cool new cooling solution that could give MSI's Lightning series graphics cards some serious competition.

Fudzilla reported that "we might also see some high factory-overclock with GPU Boost frequency of 1342MHz, which is just shy away from 1355MHz on the highest-factory overclocked GTX 980 Ti on the market, the Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP.

The card was announced at Gamescom but no prototype is revealed by the makers for now.

980 Ti is expected to feature a custom PCB with more power phases. Rumor say MSI 980 Ti will support a base clock of 1217MHz with a boost of 1342MHz, according to Techfrag.

Hardocp.com wrote that the GTX 980 Ti video card shares "specifications closer to the TITAN X than it does the GTX 980. It has 2816 CUDA Cores while TITAN X has 3072 and GTX 980 has 2048. The GTX 980 Ti also shares the TITAN X GPU's 96 ROP units. The 980 Ti clock speed and the memory speed are exactly the same as the TITAN X.

Korean website HWBattle reported that the GeForce GTX 980 Ti will come with 2,816 CUDA cores, less than the GTX Titan X, which has 3,072 CUDA cores on. The chip will have 176  of texture mapping units as opposed to the GTX Titan X, which has 192. The GTX 980 Ti will use the GM200-310 GPU, which is less powerful than the Titan card's GM200-400 GPU.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics will come with 6GB of VRAM on a 384-bit GDDR5 memory interface, and a TDP of around 250W.

EVGA set the base GPU clock at 1102MHz. The Boost clock is 1190MHz compared to the reference 1074MHz. The memory is left at default 7GHz (effective GDDR5). The GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ with backplate is listed on the EVGA webshop for $680.

Tweaktown reviewed the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti G1 saying it is "superb as it has awesome cooling, it's silent, it's factory overclocked (and not a little) and combined with the default variables like the 6 GB graphics memory this product oozes performance and awesomeness."
