Miley Cyrus Says 'Hannah Montana' Made Her Feel Insecure, Spills On Set Anxiety!

Miley Cyrus has told Marie Claire for its September issue that it was not all glamour doing "Hannah Montana" for years.

In the interview, she said getting all dolled up every day didn't build her confidence.

"I was made to look like someone that I wasn't, which probably caused some body dysmorphia because I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn't on that show, it was like, 'Who the f**k am I?'" she explained as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

She even compared the experience to being in the child pageant reality show "Toddlers & Tiaras,"

"From the time I was 11, it was, 'You're a pop star!'" she exclaimed. "That means you have to be blonde, and you have to have long hair, and you have to put on some glittery tight thing. Meanwhile, I'm this fragile little girl playing a 16-year-old in a wig and a ton of makeup. It was like 'Toddlers & Tiaras.' I had f*****g flippers."

While Miley Cyrus was presented in "Hannah Montana" as a pop star who is happy in the limelight and doesn't mind living a double life as a regular teenager as well, it was a different thing in real life.

"I would have anxiety attacks," she said. "I'd get hot flashes, feel like I was about to pass up or throw up."

"It would happen a lot before shows, and I'd have to cancel," the singer added. "Then the anxiety started coming from anxiety. I would be with my friends, thinking, I should be having so much fun. You get in this hole that seems like you're never going to be able to get out of."

According to bio.com, Miley Cyrus nabbed the "Hannah Montana" role back in 2004 besting more than a thousand others who wanted to the opportunity.  She did the TV series alongside real life dad Billy Ray Cyrus up to 2011. The TV series told the story of girl who was living a double life as described by Disney. Aside from being a teenager, she was also the world's biggest pop star.
