An adorably awkward high school senior has asked model Kate Upton to prom.

The 'Kate Upton, Will You Go To Prom With Me?' video has gone viral as Jake Davidson asks the model to be his date for the most important high school event, the senior prom.

Davidson, a high school senior from Los Angeles, invites the Sports Illustrated model to his prom in a very unique, very public way - via YouTube.

In the video the teen outlines the reasons why she should accept his proposal saying things like, "You're the ying to my yang, I'm Jewish, 5'9" on a really good day, and I can't dance at all. You're Christian, 5'10" and that Cat Daddy video should have won an Oscar for best short film... you could say this is destiny."

The video itself is a 2-minute conglomeration of scenes from everyday life for Davidson, as a way for Kate Upton to get a sense for who he really is. It shows clips of him relaxing by the pool, working out, showering and shaving - and is altogether reminiscent of Matthew Broderick's opening monologue in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (particularly the shower scene).

It is sweet and sentimental, and the senior raises some good points. He seems like a nice kid who is willing to suffer the ultimate embarrassment of being rejected by a supermodel, but he has the gusto to actually go for it in the first place, and we cannot fault him for that.

The video was posted on Sunday night and so far has well over 30,000 views. However, there has been no word from Kate Upton regarding the prom invitation.

There was a brief moment of hope for the young coed, an Internet trickster posing as the model accepted the invitation, but once that turned out to be a false alarm, Davidson went back to waiting for the real Kate.

His bold move has gained a lot of attention across the Internet and we are all anxiously waiting to hear how Upton will respond.

As Davidson mentions in the video prom invitation: "Kate, great moments are born from great opportunity. And that is what you have here today. A chance to make a nice guy's senior year the best ever."

So, Kate Upton, will you go to prom with him?
