Boy Killed By Dad's Plow, 6-Year-Old Nathan Capponi Struck While Playing On Scooter In Snowy Driveway

A six-year-old boy was killed by dad's snowplow early Wednesday morning in the Greene area.

Nathan Capponi was reported to have been playing on his scooter in the family driveway when his father Kevin Capponi backed up his large pickup truck after clearing the snow and did not see his son.

Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety said in a statement the boy was rushed by ambulance to the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after the accident took place at 6:45 a.m. along Quaker Ridge Road. However he was shortly pronounced dead. Greene is located 22 miles west of Augusta in southwestern Maine.

"The boy was on a scooter playing in his driveway as his father was backing up the truck," McCausland said.

Police say the tragic incident occurred when 36-year-old was nearly finishing up plowing the driveway of his home on Greene.
