Deflategate Report Update: Richard Sherman Defends Tom Brady, Calls Out NFL For 'Fining Players' More Than 'Fining Organizations'

Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman has defended New England Patriots star Tom Brady amidst the ongoing "deflategate" scandal and his suspension appeal.

The cornerback called out the NFL for "fining players" more than "fining organizations."

"You're fining players more than you're fining organizations?" Sherman told USA TODAY Sports.

"Owners can only be fined so much. There's a cap. And Brady gets fined (roughly $2 million). Whether the crimes are the same or not, a suspension is a suspension, a fine is a fine. Game checks," he later added.

Documents from New England Patriots star Tom Brady's suspension appeal have surfaced online, revealing important details pertaining to his case. Among these are explanations of his practice of destroying cellphones, which was seen as incriminating on his part by many analysts.

Brady mentioned during his appeal testimony that he does so in order to prevent sensitive information from being publicized.

"So I have always told the guy who swaps them out for me, make sure you get rid of the phone," he said, according to the Boston Globe

"And what I mean is destroy the phone so that no one can ever, you know, reset it or do something where I feel like the information is available to anybody."
