'Terminator Genisys' Execs Not Impressed With Emilia Clarke? 'Game Of Thrones' Star Lacks 'Star Power?'

Despite her huge following in "Game of Thrones," Emilia Clarke won't be returning to the "Terminator" franchise after the anemic showing of "Genisys" on the box-office, at least according to the article of one website.

Emilia Clarke's Khaleesi character in "Game of Thrones" is one of the more popular characters in the show, along with Kit Harington's Jon Snow and Peter Dinklage's Tyrion Lannister.

Dish Nation alleged that the English actress "failed to impress" the executives with her turn in "Terminator Genysis."

The source claimed, "Sadly her acting ability has been called into question and has in part been blamed for the film's flop."

"Of course it's not all her fault," the insider added. "But they basically don't want her back. They're saying she doesn't have the star power they thought she did."

Dish Nation added that the film would have propelled her to stardom.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Emilia Clarke's "Terminator Genysis" grossed $28.7 million in the box-office during the July 4th holiday weekend.

Ticket sales during the five-day opening only grossed $44.1 million, which THR said was "a poor start that threatens the revival of the storied franchise."

But the report from Dish Nation could be premature and Emilia Clark might have another chance to prove herself as "Terminator Genisys" actually had a decent showing in the overseas box-office market.

With a budget of around $155 million, Box Office Mojo reported that "Terminator Genisys" grossed $264,000 in foreign ticket sales.

And the numbers are bound to go up as Variety reported that "Terminator Genysis" headlined by Emilia Clarke is smashing box-office records in China.

"The Paramount Pictures and Skydance release scored the fourth-biggest opening day for a U.S. release in the country, picking up $27.4 million after debuting Sunday across 25,000 locations," it said. "That pushes its worldwide total to $335.1 million with roughly three quarters of that haul coming from abroad."
