After quitting a supernatural romance drama in "The Vampire Diaries," Nina Dobrev found herself in familiar territory as updates reveal she headlines the upcoming slasher flick, "The Final Girls."

"The Final Girls" just dropped the trailer and Nina Dobrev wasn't really shown until 45 seconds into the clip. The final confrontation with the killer only showed Taissa Farmiga, Alexander Ludwig and Malin Akerman, which could mean that Ian Somerhaler's ex might have died in the movie.

The synopsis for "The Final Girls" read, "A young woman grieving the loss of her mother, a famous scream queen from the 1980s, finds herself pulled into the world of her mom's most famous movie. Reunited, the women must fight off the film's maniacal killer."

It's been previous updates claimed that Nina Dobrev has been having a difficult time finding work ever since leaving "The Vampire Diaries." Her exit was mired with controversy when multiple tabloids have speculated that it was because of Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry claimed that since leaving "The Vampire Diaries," Nina Dobrev has been spending a lot of her time partying and drinking.

"Most recently, the former TVD star spent time drinking and hanging out with famous pals in France. A portion of the St. Tropez trip was also dedicated to showing off her bikini bod with Austin Stowell," it said.

"At one point, Nina straddled the 'Whiplash' star, giving paparazzi something to snap at. Meanwhile, her career hasn't exactly taken off post-Vampire Diaries," the website added of the Nina Dobrev update.

Ian Somerhalder will be returning to reprise his role as Damon in "The Vampire Diaries" as Nina Dobrev is trying to carve a career in movies.
