New Orleans Pelicans News: Anthony Davis Confirms Shooting 3-Pointers Next Season!

The whole league should be on the lookout next year as New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis will be more lethal than ever.

In a report by CBS Sports, Davis said that he will now begin to shoot three-point shots regularly as instructed by head coach Alvin Gentry.

"I'm going to mix it up. I love playing down low, but at the same time, if the opportunity is there; I'm definitely going to take them," Davis said. "That's one thing for sure that coach Gentry has told me-'Shoot the ball,' 'Let it go.' I've been working on it and I'm very confident in my game."

He also mentioned that it has been part of his game back in high school and he will bring it back as another weapon for his offensive game.

"I've shot three's all my life," Davis said. "I didn't really need to shoot them over the past few years as much, but I'm never going to turn down shooting threes, especially if the coach tells me he wants me to shoot them. It's something that I've definitely been working on. I definitely plan on utilizing it this year."

Meanwhile, head coach Alvin Gentry told NOLA.com that he told Davis that he has a big potential to be an MVP in the NBA and they will be really, really good if he wins a Defensive Player of the Year award.

"Anthony is a generational player, I think. And he is 22 years old,'' he said.

"It is up to us to make him as good as he can possibly be, and not settle for him to be less than great in this area or that area. I told him that I have no doubt that he is going to be an MVP in this league. And I said to him, 'We are going to be really, really good if you also win Defensive Player of the Year.'''
